Sinclair Elementary will be having its annual Kinder Round Up March 20, 2012 at 9:00am. Parents and prospective students are encouraged to come visit Sinclair on this day. A short meeting will be held in the Library and parents will hear from, the Principal, Bonnie Clark and the Magnet Coordinator, Lee Mashburn. Enrollment procedures and requirements will be discussed.

Prospective students will be given an opportunity to spend some time in the classrooms and enjoy a brief lesson with Sinclair teachers.

We would like to invite any interested Lazybrook residents to the second Lazybrook Garden Club meeting to be held on Tuesday, March 13^th.  The meeting will be held at the home of Marc and Melissa Cougle, 2110 Millwood Dr. Our first meeting last month was a great experience and we are excited about continuing to share our stories and growing our club.

The meeting with begin with a social starting at 6:30PM and the formal meeting will begin at 7:00PM.  The agenda for this month’s meeting will include:

• Welcome
• Review and accept Club Rules and Officers (meeting leaders)
• Presentation and Discussion on Soil Preparation
• Discuss bulk mulch and soil purchase
• Open Discussion
• Select Topic and Presenter for April Meeting
• Adjourn

If you would like to join us, we invite you to please bring a small dish, appetizer or bottle of wine to share with the other club members.

Come and join the discussion! All are welcome to participate in the cultivation of our great neighborhood.

Many of the neighbors in Lazybrook take much pride in their landscaping and gardening. This is quite evident by the wonderful joy many of us have walking and driving around the neighborhood.

For those of you that enjoy getting your hands a bit dirty or literally enjoying the Fruits and Vegetables of your labor we would like to invite you to participate in the Lazybrook Gardening Club now being established.

If you are interested in participating in the Lazybrook Gardening Club please plan to attend the first group session on Tuesday February 21st at 7:00 PM. This first session will be held at the home of Marc and Melissa Cougle, 2110 Millwood Houston, TX 77008 and will focus on what we would like the club become and topics for future meetings.

Possible ideas for what the Lazybrook Garden Club members could participate in are:

• Sharing gardening tips and tricks
• Discussions on plants and landscaping for the neighborhood
• Hosting a “Garden Tour” of their property (or garden club meeting)
• Trading plants and seeds
• Buying plants in bulk for deeper discounts
• Sharing garden tools and transportation of plants
• Keeping up with the latest plant and garden sales
• Start a community garden
• Group tour of an area arboretum

If you have any additional ideas on what you would like the Lazybrook Garden Club to be or what specific topics you would like to cover at future meetings please include them in your RSVP.

The Friends of Jaycee Park will be hosting a FREE movie night at Jaycee Park on Saturday, March 3 at 6:30 PM.

“How to Train Your Dragon”

Refreshments will be available for purchase. All proceeds from the sale of concessions (pizza, popcorn, refreshments) will go towards the maintenance of trees and facilities at our beautiful, new park which are not covered by city.

Join The Houston Parks and Recreation Department for the 26th Annual Arbor Day Tree Planting! Open to individuals, families, businesses and groups. 25,000 trees will be planted in 4 parks. Thanks to our partners we will be planting in all 4 parks at the same time (8:00 am – 12 noon).
