Grand Opening of H.E.B. Water Playground at Jaycee Park!
Last year H.E.B. selected Jaycee Park to receive one of their water playgrounds (a $250,000 donation). Construction started on Valentines Day 2011 and all is finished except for some final details. So now it’s time to bring your family and friends out to Jaycee Park on Saturday May 21st at 10am for a celebration sponsored by H.E.B.! The firefighters and their fire engine are also scheduled to be at the party.
At past H.E.B. Water Playground grand openings, they have had ice cream, refreshments, their mascot, H-E-Buddy, and a visit from Scott McClelland, President of HEB Houston.
Please see the attached invitation. All are welcome, so feel free to forward to all your family and friends.
Husband of past LCC Treasurer
The husband of our beloved past Lazybrook Civic Club treasurer, Mrs. Mary Kathryn Peterson passed away Saturday. Dowell Peterson’s visitation is at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1101 Antoine, on Tuesday, April 12th from 6:00 to 8:00 and services will be at Lazybrook Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 13th.
The family requests that remembrances be made to Lazybrook Baptist Church Senior Adult Fund or to the charity of your choice.
Our prayers are with the Peterson family on this sad occasion.

The Sound of the 290 Expansion
Via Swamplot …
A small group of homeowners that includes residents of Timbergrove, Brookwoods Estates, and Holly Park have filed a lawsuit against the Federal Highway Administration claiming that the agency approved the expansion of Hwy. 290 along the 38-mile stretch from 610 to FM 2920 last August without properly analyzing how noise from the project would affect their properties.
